Was bought this as a present by my 5 year old and I absolutely loved every minute! The instructors were superb, so patient and helpful. When they said there was 2-3 per car I started doubting being there as I thought I wouldn’t get much Drive time, but it was spot on! Made to feel completely at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day

Amazing Day

Such a great day with a quality instructor, couldn’t believe the progress I made. The staff were great, the cars were great and Tessa made it possible by helping me book a corse which catered for what I wanted and it still gave me more !!! Hope to see you all again soon

What an awesome time i had, was way better then expected, and i expected to be great….i have no words to express my feellings, super mega awesome and ofcourse the amazing staff/teachers… a huge thank you to everybody envolved !

Awesome day – lots of seat time!

From the moment we got there it was just an all round awesome day… Matt and the team were great and clearly explained the format of the day and the techniques we would be learning…

There was plenty of seat time and the instructors were really good, adapting their styles to the different members of the group. I learnt so much in the relatively short amount of time I spent with Tessa and can’t wait to head back for another session in the future… They even took our non-driving spectators out for a hot lap which I thought was a nice touch!

Would highly recommend anyone looking for an experience day like this to book with RDX!

Loved Every Second !

We had an awesome day. The cars were great, very well prepared, and the instructors – I cannot say enough good things about them. We were made to feel totally welcome, and always encouraged positively. JoJo was an awesome instructor, really patient and made sure we had a great time.

Experience of a lifetime

WOW! That’s much harder than I ever thought! Glad I came to experience and appreciate how talented these drivers are. Will have to book a whole day next time and bring some mates…

Amazing experience

My first time behind the wheel in a drift car and I wouldn’t have had a better teacher. Tessa was awesome and really made me feel comfortable as did the rest of the RDX team!! I will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Top Quality Kit – Top Quality People.

Firstly let me say I’m not particularly interested in drifting but did the course to try to improve my car handling skills at the limit of grip for normal road driving. As the cars are modified with fixed diffs, it didn’t work.
However the pros are that you get top quality kit, Nissan 350 ZX’s, the full corporate experience with driving overalls and helmets and a talented set of instructors to show you the ropes. It’s very full-on with little chance to develop on the day if it doesn’t come naturally. I would recommend practicing feathering the throttle / accelerator by about 2000 revs before you arrive remembering your car will overheat / burst in to flames if you do it too long whilst stationary. Another challenge is to let go of the steering wheel and battle the instinct to catch the skid. The instructors demonstrate the brutality of starting the drift which is difficulty to replicate and control but it is enjoyable as long as you don’t expect too much in one session.
The cons are that the course is quite small so you can’t learn the limit with repetition like you could on a circuit, a square course with 90 degree radiused corners would I think help with progressive learning, corner-corner-corner-corner style. The cones didn’t help me either as they get in the way, white lining without the kerbs (vibra-lining) would be better. To get everything to sync is a big ask, turn in, full throttle, clutch blip, catch steering, concentrate on route between cones is very busy.
To sum up, someone who wants to drift might be able to nail it in a couple of sessions, In any case it’s a good way to spend a day.

Fantastic experience

Wow what an amazing day out and experience! A big Thank you to my fab sons and daughter-in-law for being there with me, bringing Ella with them and for givng me this experience as a birthday gift. It really was a great day and great fun….even if I did’t quite reach the boys’standards. ?? I now know how to do doughnuts and drift round corners!!! It was a great trip home too on the roundabouts!!! ?? I will be back!

AMAZING DAY!!!

RDX Drift Academy
This Saturday I had an AMAZING time at RDX Drift Academy. I’d recommend it for anyone looking into getting into drifting or if you own or thinking of owning a performance vehicle.

The School is run by professional drivers from the Pro section of the British Drift Championship or In top end of the European leagues, I was put with Martin Richards as I was on the 6 hour course and he was brilliant, very patient, supportive and had a great way of explaining the core skills and helping get the car under control whilst your in the driving seat by tailoring tasks specific to the student.
Seat time is plentiful as Martin really believes its only by doing that you’ll get that crucial car control.

The cars are great, all 350Z’s with race mods to help with you get the best out of them on the track, mine was No. 46 and I got very protective of it as the day went on.

As a part of the course at the end I was put into a car with one of the pro drivers behind the wheel (Martin Richards), and in another car is another pro driver (Matt Denham) with another student and then they race, wow its fun if you don’t come out smiling I’ll be amazed, for a bit of fun they take it really seriously.

A big thank you to Martin, Matt and all the RDX Team, just a warning I will be back.
